SENIOR ART DIRECTOR
Design direction isn't created in isolation—it already exists in the energy of the team and the purpose of the brand. I uncover, guide, and translate that vision into cohesive identity that serves people, planet, and purpose.
About Me
"Design isn't just visual—it's emotional, tactile, and deeply human. I translate memory and emotion into materials that feel alive, colors that speak, visuals that tell stories."
I grew up in Iran, surrounded by poetry, textiles, and art—where every object carried meaning and every color told a story. This early immersion shaped my understanding of how people express identity through the sensory language of design.
Moving to Canada meant building a better life, but I always carried a longing for connection, warmth, and cultural richness. This journey taught me that design isn't just visual—it's emotional, tactile, and deeply human.
Rooted in Story & Sensory Design
-
Textiles & Memory
Every thread carries the story of its maker
-
Poetry & Expression
Words and images dance together in meaning
-
Cultural Bridge
Connecting heritage with contemporary vision
Cultural Influences
My travels through the Middle East—Iran, Syria, Turkey—revealed the poetic, layered aesthetics of these places. I'm drawn to how textiles become storytellers, how patterns hold memory, and how craftsmanship preserves culture across generations.
Egypt lives in my imagination through books, music, and the voice of Om Kalthoum. Her song "The Ruins" haunts my work: "Tell how that love became past news…" This poetry of longing and memory infuses everything I create.
Design Philosophy
My work is about translating memory and emotion into design—materials that feel alive, colors that speak, visuals that tell stories. I believe clothing should connect us to something deeper than trend or function.
I'm drawn to Kotn for its cultural grounding, authentic use of texture, and storytelling through clothing. There's poetry in how Egyptian cotton becomes both craft and narrative—something I understand in my bones.
What Drives My Work
Three core principles that guide every creative decision
-
Sustainability
Creating designs that respect our planet through thoughtful material choices, low-waste construction, and circular design principles that honor both craft and conscience.
-
Inclusivity
Designing for every body through universal design, accessibility, and celebrating diverse perspectives. Beauty emerges when everyone is welcomed and represented.
-
Cultural Heritage
Bridging traditional craftsmanship with contemporary design, honoring cultural stories while creating modern narratives that resonate across generations.
